30 Day Picture Challenge: Day 6- A Picture of A Person You Would Love to Trade Places with for a Day

Right this one was quite tricky as there are a load of people I'd love to trade places with but I've decided on:

A Toddler
As I said it took me quite a while to pick out the person I'd want to trade places with. I started thinking of celebrities I'd love to trade places with like Kim Kardashian, Jessie J even Kate Middleton but I know that even for a day I couldn't cope with their lifestyle and the constant harrassment from the papparazzi, not to mention the work schedule/

So after racking my brains I decided on a toddler, any toddler it doesn't really matter age, race, religion, gender, just a toddler. I want to be reminded on when the world and life was exciting and new, when it was a mystery as to why it snowed but all you knew was it was a lot of fun, to still believe in Santa and the Easter Bunny and Tooth Fairy, when there was a bit of magic in the world before you grow up and be cynical about everything.

So that's who I'd like to trade places with for a day... I'd love to hear who you would trade with

"Music expresses that which cannot be said and on which it is impossible to be silent" Victor Hugo

Well anyone that knows me, or has seen my 30 day song challenge on Facebook, knows that I have an extremely varied music taste. I listen to anything from reggae to r n b to indie to heavy metal so I thought I’d share with you some of the songs I’m currently loving...and some of the songs I’m currently not liking as much.
Songs I like:

Bim- The Magic of Us

This is a fairly chilled out song that I like to listen to when I’m chilling out and revising. I heard it when I went to my housemates dance show after not hearing it for ages but I like to chill out and watch it.
Ben Montague- Haunted (or any other of his songs)

I was introduced to this guy by my friend Ellie, she went to see him in concert and was ranting and raving about him so I gave him a listen and now I’m obsessed. He writes most of his own music as well as doing some covers and plays the piano and guitar- my favourite song of his at the moment is haunted, it’s just a nice chilled out song but the lyrics are also very pretty

Starboy Nathan- Diamonds

I heard this on the radio a few weeks ago and since then I have been obsessed with it, I don’t know why but it’s just so catchy and I’ll be sat there and just start singing it.
Zoelah- wine up on me

This song is all down to my housemate Giovanna, She’s very into her dancehall and soca and got me into this artist. I listen to these when I’m getting ready to go out, it’s nice and upbeat and gets you into the dancy mood

I could go on forever of my favourite songs but I’ll get onto the songs I’m not feeling right now:
Katy Perry feat Kanye West- E.T

I don’t like this song on the album before Kanye got involved and I don’t like it now. Everyone seems to rant and rave about it but I just don’t get it, It’s not something I’ve heard and thought wow I like this, which I do with a lot of Katy Perry stuff and I really don’t like Kanye West.
Chris Brown- Look at Me Now

Three words Chris Brown: You CANNOT rap. IT’s an embarrassment that you even tried. Like most people I gave Chris Brown a second chance with his music, some of the older stuff like forever I loved and I must admit his song Yeah 3x is quite catchy but now he’s attempting to rap and trying to turn into Sisqo I must admit I’m less than impressed. Chris Brown maybe stick to the singing and leave the rapping to the professionals.
Wretch 32- Traktor

This is another song I just cannot stand. I don’t know why but it really grates on me, whenever I hear it when I’m out I’m the first person off the dance floor and on my way to the bar (normally I’m the first person on the dance floor when I hear a good song)

So these are some of my current likes and dislikes in the music world, feel free to leave your opinions and maybe recommend some songs I can listen to, I love listening to new artists and songs.

30 Day Picture Challenge: Day 5: A picture of your favourite Memory

Another hard one to do today, finding a favourite memory but I was searching through my photos and found this picture

So this photo is almost 3 years old now but it was taken in Gran Canaria in 2008 (when I was 18). It was taken on the school disco night that was held and this brings back memories of the holiday, my first holiday I went on without my family. It was such a nice break and was nice to have a good giggle with my friends

30 Day Picture Challenge: Day 4: A picture from your favourite night

Right I know I’m rubbish at keeping up with this picture challenge thing, hence why on my facebook profile it has taken me about 3 months to complete the 30 day song challenge, but here is picture 4, a picture of my favourite night.

To be completely honest I don’t really have a favourite night out that I can single out, I’ve had so many good nights out recently as well as throughout my time at uni that I can’t single one out. Therefore I have picked a few pictures (I know it’s cheating) and I’m going to tell you why they’re my favourite nights.

These photos are from Freshers Week, with my housemates. These pictures remind me of some of the really amazing times I had that year with the bunch of lovely people and it makes me sad to think that uni time is almost over.

Christmas Eve 2010- Also Becka's 21st birthday. This ngiht was just a really good night and a nice end to the year. Topped off of course by seeing Mr Olly Murs in Liquid

New Years Eve 2010- Another good end to a bit of a rubbish year but it was definitely a drunken, amazing night.

30 Day PIcture Challenge: Day 3: A picture of the Cast From your favourite show

Ok since I didn't do the picture challenge yesterday this is what was meant to be todays post. It was incredibly hard to pick as I watch way too much television and have quite a few favourite shows but as you can see I picked Glee.

Glee has had me hooked from the first episode, and I'm still loving the second series. Some of the songs they perform I prefer to the originals and the characters are hard not to love. So Glee is definitely my favourite show at the moment
And just because here;s one of my favourite songs from this current series (and it has nothing to do with the lovely Matthew Morison being topless haha)

30 Day Picture Challenge: Day 2- A picture of you and the person you've been closest to the longest

This is a picture of me and my best friend Kate. Bar my family I think I’ve known Kate the longest. We went to primary school together (however I don’t think we liked each other much at primary school haha). We became friends when we were 13 or 14 after meeting again during secondary school. Since then we’ve been friends even though we went to different schools and are now at different unis. Even though we don’t see each other very often we have the kind of friendship that when we do see each other it’s normal as if we saw each other the day before, which is one of the best kinds of friendship to have,

"Oh, well. What's a royal ball? After all, I suppose it would be frightfully dull, and-and-and boring, and-and completely... Completely wonderful” Cinderella

Right so whilst I’m in the blogging mode I thought I’d write a bit about what I’ve been up to recently, starting with my Law Ball. Well my annual Law Ball was held on 19th March 2011 in the Mandalay in Guildford
So I ended up spending ages getting ready, letting my housemate do my hair, which was a curly up do, and my makeup- which ended up being smoky eyes with purple tones instead of blacks and greys. Then I headed over to my friend’s house to get dressed and to take part in all the girly tasks like nail painting and getting into dresses.

So when we pulled up to the Mandalay at closer to 7 than the half 6 time that was stated on the invite, we were unsure of what to expect, unsure if it would live up to the lovely venue that we had had for our law ball last year. However it more than lived up to our expectation

So we were greeted with a champagne reception, which is always nice and seeing everyone in their tuxedos and gowns gave it an authentic ball feeling. There were a few girls that had gone very prom and princess with their gowns (many of them first years who hadn’t been to a Ball before* compared to the shorter evening gowns we had gone in- with a lot less puff and frills may I add. So anyway the champagne reception, yes that was lovely and getting to see everyone all dressed up, the not so good thing Champagne goes straight to my head on a good day and with little to eat that day to make sure I fit into my dress it did leave me a little tipsy after only one glass.
Dinner was really lovely. Starter was a  tomato and chilli soup, followed by pork in a cider and apple gravy with vegetables and to top that all off there was profiteroles for afters... which did mean I broke my lent of not eating chocolate but trust me they were so worth it.
See what I mean?
After the dinner and the speeches and raffle, which all took rather a long time of sitting down and clapping, they finally let us free on one of the best bits of the night the chocolate fountains. There were 3 fountains: a dark chocolate one, a milk chocolate one and a white chocolate one and lots of tubs of strawberries, marshmallows and profiteroles to go with it, there seemed to be quite a lot left over and after a couple of glasses of champagne they tasted even better.

So the night ended with a dj and a dance plus the opportunity to socialise with the lecturers as well as the invited guests who included barristers, solicitors and judges from the local area. I must admit this was probably one of the best bits of the night, having a dance, and even getting bought champagne (the proper £60 a bottle stuff not the cheap stuff we were buying) by a solicitor my friend had spoken to. I loved every moment of it and when it finished I honestly say I wanted it to go on longer.

30 Day Picture Challenge: A Picture of You with 10 Facts

Right guys I know I’m rubbish at updating but I’ve not really had much to blog about (well I have but I’ve just had so much work that I haven’t had the time) and so someone suggested doing one of the 30 day Challenges to get me back into it. So for the next 30 days I’m subjecting you to the 30 day picture Challenge, which I’m sure you are all going to love. Not only will it give me inspiration between all my long spells of lack of blog posts but it will also allow you to get to know me a lot better.

So as the title says Day 1: A photo of me with 10 facts about myself.

This picture was taken a couple of weekends ago at the law ball and its one of my favourite pictures at the moment.
10 Facts about me:
1.       I was born 19th July 1990 at 3 in the afternoon.
2.       I am the oldest of 4 children, but also the oldest granddaughter on both sides of my family.
3.       I have a little bit of an obsession with shoes. I cannot resist buying a pretty pair of shoes even if they will sit in my wardrobe for ages having been worn once or if I wear them for a month constantly before being kicked off and never seen again.
4.       I have a huge fear of death. It’s crazy but I always get so scared of the thought of dying/anyone close to me dying.
5.       I am extremely proud of coming from Essex, yes I know we have a stigma especially us Essex girls (and I can’t say that the ITV show ‘The Only Way Is Essex’ helps the matter) but I do love home and being near the seaside
6.       I’m a hoarder, I don’t throw anything away. I have birthday cards from my 18th- 3 years ago, stuff from school, cinema tickets from being out with friends, napkins from being on holiday at 16, you name it I’ve probably got it lying around somewhere, which is probably why whenever I have to pack up and move my stuff it takes so long as there’s so much.
7.       I hate silence. I don’t know if it’s because I’m so used to noise as there’s 6 of us at home and so usually always someone around, but I cannot work in silence- there has to be music playing or the television on or someone around making noise.
8.       I’ve never watched Pretty Woman, Armageddon,  The Green Mile, the Terminator, Die Hard, and loads of other films I’ve been told I must see.
9.       I’m the messiest clumsiest person you’ll probably ever meet.
10.   My family are the most important people in my life. I’m a complete home bird and I love my family to pieces.
