Where are you Christmas? Why can't I find you?

So most of you will notice I haven’t been posting as often as I really should and I want to apologise for that. Unfortunately working in retail means long days around Christmas and currently I am 40 hours down in my 60 hour week so as you can imagine I am currently working, getting in eating and going to bed.
Unfortunately working in retail seems to have another downside... I’ve lost my Christmas spirit! Well actually I can’t really say I have lost the spirit because this year I haven’t even had it in the first place. By this time I’m normally getting excited and being a bit like a kid in a candy shop about Christmas, counting down the days and singing Christmas carols however this year seems to be the opposite.
Unfortunately with Christmas preparations beginning in November for me I think to be honest Christmas is running pretty thin. Not to mention the fact that Christmas seems to make people go mental. I guess the expense of Christmas and the stress of trying to organise just one day gets to people but I honestly cannot count how many times I have been smacked into with shopping trolleys, moaned at and abused for merely doing my job. I understand the stress but this however does not put me in the finest mood when I’m tired and grouchy from not spending time with my own family.

I even thought that wrapping my presents would put me in a good mood as normally with a bit of Christmas music on I would begin to feel Christmassy however there was nothing...nada. It just seemed like another chore.

I’m guessing that as I get older, Christmas is losing its magic, and that instead this is how Christmas is going to feel all I can say is I really hope not and that instead I am going to go into work tomorrow or Christmas Eve and suddenly the moaning and depression won’t matter and I will once again be excited for Christmas.

30 Day Disney Challenge: Day 12: Your favourite love song

After watching the film last night with my little sister- as I hadn't watched it in ages and my little sister had never seen it I think this is defo my favourite love song currently

"Manners are like the shadows of virtues, they are the momentary display of those qualities which our fellow creatures love and respect." Sydney Smith

Right I’m going to have a bit of a rant today about something that has been bothering me for a while now...manners.
I’ve always been brought up with some what I consider basic manners. You know the kind of thing, treat others like you wish to be treated, always say please thank you and excuse me and to always respect your elders. In fact I’d consider them more common courtesy than manners but it seems to me today that some people are severely lacking.
Take the other day for example I was getting on the bus to work and because it was a quite busy time of day the bus was as expected really packed. Anyway an elderly gentleman in front of me who had two walking sticks for support and struggled with basic walking got on the bus before me. As I said it was busy and the bus seats were all full but there were a group of about 4 boys aged about 15 sat in the priority disabled seats, now in my eyes I think the elderly gentleman who could barely stand on his own let alone on a moving bus qualified for the seat but these boys just sat there laughing and staring at him whilst he struggled. If that was me I would have given up my seat straight away, it was obvious he was struggling and I’m sure those boys were more than capable of standing for a few minutes. I’ll admit I had to really  bite my tongue to prevent me shouting at them to give up their seat and were they dragged up (although luckily another passenger got in there before me and insisted the boys moved to let the poor gentleman sit down. Anyway it got me thinking, have manners really gone so far to the dogs?
Another example is saying please and thank you and treating others like you would wish to be treated but I have noticed especially now I’m back working full time in a shop just how many people seem to forget little things like saying please. Like people that come up to you and go “oi where’s the cream?” or some other request. Is it really hard to ask “Excuse me could you tell me where the cream is please?”?! And it’s just an observation but its normally younger people who seem to behave like this... I feel like an old woman going on like this but it’s really one of my pet hates.
Maybe as society progresses and the younger generation grow up there will begin to be no place for manners, in fact at the moment this certainly is the case, however I don’t think I want to live in a world where a bit of common courtesy is given to others.
What are your thoughts? Do you think some people nowadays are severely lacking in manners or do you think manners have no place in society anymore?

30 Day Disney Challenge: Day 11: Your Favourite Song

Having grown up with Disney I know many of the songs and have come to love them, therefore picking one has been extremely difficult. Therefore here are a selection of my favourite Disney Songs:

Hercules- Go the Distance

Pocohontas- Colour of The Wind

The Little Mermaid- Part of Your World

And for your own enjoyment I stumbled across this which I thought I'd throw in for good measure

30 Day Disney Challenge: Day 10- Your Favourite Original Character

My favourite Disney original character was quite difficult, obviously I love Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy and Goofy. I think however that I will have to say my favourite original character is Pluto the Dog.

It's definitely winter... I have my annual cold!

So firstly massive apologies for not posting in over a week but I ended up going to Guildford to visit my uni friends. I came back to some sad news though, that my rabbit Hope had died. IT upset me a bit though as I’ve had her for about 6 years.

Anyway another reason I haven’t blogged is because once again the germs have got me!! That’s right I definitely know winter is here as I have my annual cold, but unfortunately instead of crawling into bed and sleeping forever, which is the way I have dealt with it whilst at uni, I have had to instead dose myself up on a ridiculous amount of cold and flu and soldiering into work. Therefore any spare time I do have is being spent eating and sleeping instead of blogging so please bear with me.

I have a few blog posts in the process of being written so please keep your eyes peeled for updates...also if anyone has any cold remedies which will make my stuffy head go away I would be ridiculously grateful.

30 Day Disney Challenge: Day 9- Your Favourite Couple

Right I thought I'd pick a different couple than any of the characters I picked for the previous days and so my favourite Disney Couple is Simba and Nala.

Although the Lion King is ultimately about Simba's fight to win back his kingdom from his uncle Scar, the love story between him and Nala, starting from childhood stretching to their adult lives is so lovely. Plus I love this song

30 Day Disney Challenge: Day 8: Your Favourite Villain

The Villain I have chosen not as my favourite but as the villain that still scares me to this day and therefore what can be said is the best villain is Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty.

I remember the first time of watching Sleeping Beauty when I must have been 6 or 7 with my brother and my uncle. I don't remember much of it but I do remember as soon as the chilling music came on and Maleficent appeared I grabbed a cushion and hid behind the sofa. I also remember that night having a pretty horrible nightmare in which she featured.
And even at the grand old age of 21 I can honestly say Maleficent still scares the hell out of me. The music, what she looks like, the whole persona makes me feel 6 again wanting to hid behind the sofa with a cushion and my fingers in my ears...
And that is why for me I feel Maleficent is the best Disney Villain

30 Day Disney Challenge- Day 6 and Day 7- Your Favourite Animal and your Favourite Sidekick

Right I didn't manage to update yesterday as I was mega busy with working and other plans, but it turns out that it works pretty well as the 2 days join together and I have one character in mind.

ABU

I not only love Abu the monkey but I think he makes an excellent sidekick for Aladdin. He adds comedy as well as a serious note to the film and I think I'll share with you some of my favourite Abu moments
And probably my favourite moment of all, when Aladdin is stuck in jail and Abu comes to keep him company

Do you agree or do you think there's a better sidekick or animal out there?

30 Day Disney Challenge: Day 5- Your Favourite Hero

This one is another easy one for me. My favourite Hero is Hercules

And just for a treat as I've had it on whilst writing this post here's the song that shows just how he's a hero

30 Day Disney Challenge: Day 4- Your Favourite Prince

This one is really easy

My favourite Prince is Prince Eric from the Little Mermaid
Ever since I was lottle Prince Eric has always been my favourite. Not only is he quite good looking but he has a charisma about him

30 Day Disney Challenge: Day 3- My Favourite Heroine

Ok so day 3 of the Disney Challenge is my favourite heroine and I didn't have to think for a second. My favourite Disney Heroine has to be Mulan

There's something about running away to fight for China, almost losing your family's honour and saving China from the enemy Huns that spells out heroine to me.

Tag Post

Right I found this on Emma's blog From Fallen Angel to Yummy Mummy and decided to kill some time before work
1. Mood: I am in a fairly ok mood today. I felt a bit sleep deprived earlier but now after a driving lesson I am feeling more awake but am not looking forward to work tonight.

2. If you could dine (for free) anywhere in the world tonight, where would it be? I'd love to be somewhere exotic at the moment eating pretty much annything- I saw an advert for a posh restaurant in South Africa so why don't we give that a try tonight

3. Do you have any siblings? Yes I'm the oldest of 4 children with 2 sisters and a brother. My brother is currently at uni in Plymouth though.

4. If your pets could talk, what would they say about you? I can honestly say that I haven't got a clue what they would say, hopefully that I'm good at looking after them, if not a bit ditzy

5. Which one do you follow most often, your heart or your head? If I'm honest I tend to follow my heart mroe than my head, I kind of run off with what my heart decides and leave my head standing in the background screaming at me to get a grip and think this through.

6. What are three songs on your road trip playlist? At the moment I have these songs for my journeys
1. Laidback Luke and Example- Natural Disaster
2. Olly Murs- Dance with Me Tonight
3. Kelly Rowland and Big Sean- Lay it on Me

7. Would you consider yourself renowned or famous for anything in particular? Nope I am not famous at all, which is good...well unless you count being the only person in my school to get 100% on my A Level History exam haha

8. Your favorite place for dessert? Oh that is difficult...I love dessert. To be honest I could be anywhere as long as I have cheesecake...or any dessert.

9. Scariest movie you’ve ever seen? I tend to avoid scary movies- I'm a massive scardy cat and will just watch it from behind a pillow or my hands.

10. Weekly goals: Try not to go mad at work, try to earn some money and blog more.

If you do the tag post aswell then don't forget to post a link below

30 Day Disney Challenge- Day 2: Your favourite Princess

Right so I decided as I used Belle for my favourite character I would choose a different princess for this day so my favourite Disney Princess is
Princess Jasmine

It was a diffuclt choice to make but I do admit I've always had a soft spot for Princess Jasmine (and it had nothing to do with her having a tiger as a pet).

My Current Musical Obsession

Ok I thought I'd do a little blog on what songs I have been listening to recently before realising that it may take quite a while so instead I thought I'd tell you all about my current obsession musically.

Boyce Avenue
I've been listening to these guys for quite a while, after being shown them by a friend. I'm a massive fan of acoustic music and love the raw talent that shows through from artists who will sing just them and a guitar, not using autotune and backing tracks that have been used before. I would thoroughly recommend you all giving them a listen on youtube. The band have a mixture of covers of songs and also their own songs.

Here's a couple of my favourite songs:

Here Without You- (Originally by 3 Doors Down)
I'm a big 3 Doors Down fan and this is one of my favourite songs, so I must admit I was sceptical when I saw a cover of it. I'm the kind of person whose of the opinion if it's not broke don't try to fix it and therefore am not always a massive fan of covers however I must admit I love this song and the version- almost but not quite as much as the original.

What Makes You Beautiful (Originally by One Direction)
What I love about this cover is how they have taken the original song and lyrics and given it their own spin, it makes a nice change to listen to this, than the original which is constantly played on the radio at work

Give them a listen and let me know your thoughts

30 Day Disney Challenge- Day 1: Your Favourite Character

So I know I'm rubbish at keeping these challenges up but finding this challenge I just had to start it (and finish it)
I'm a bit of a disney fanatic, have been since I was little so here comes the 30 Day Disney Challenge
Day 1: Your Favourite Character

Right I really found this one hard as being the Disney nut I am I have many favourite characters out of many of the films. So I thought long and hard and picked my current favourite character as Belle from Beauty and the Beast

Beauty and The Beast has always had a special place in my heart as I love the storyline, and the songs. I like the character of Belle as although starting out as a rather timid character I love watching the development she goes through from meeting the Beast and her sheer determination to stand up to Gaston and the villagers.

An Essex Obsession?

So everyone knows Essex is apparently trendy at the moment. You only have to look at the popularity of TOWIE and it’s so called stars to see that Essex is currently a huge talking point...and yes people who have never been to Essex seem to have jumped on the Essex bandwagon, a phrase I seem to hear a lot is “essexing it up”. But what I seem to find hard to get my head around is why there is the sudden popularity with Essex and these stereotypes.
So it’s always been the case, there’s been a social stereotype in place if you mention that you’re from Essex, especially if you’re female. We’re all apparently sluts, normally blonde, wear stilettos and dance around our handbags. It’s not just a nationwide thing but a worldwide thing- going on holiday and saying you’re from Essex provokes the same reaction as it would talking to someone in the UK. But just recently if I’m talking to people who aren’t from Essex I hear the phrase “OH you’re from Essex what is it like?!”
This may seem a minor thing but to me it really grates on my nerves how Essex has been portrayed. These so called stars from popular television shows, not just The Only Way is Essex, but 2 Shoes from the X factor make us all out to be living the celebrity high life  but to be players and stupid bimbos relying on our looks. I’ve lived in Essex my whole life and I can honestly say that although yes there are some people who live up to the stereotype the majority of us are just normal people... like any other place.
The phrase “Essexing it up” really gets on my wick as well. I’ve seen it be used a lot of times on things like facebook by people who have, merely put on a bit of fake tan and some eyelashes. Since when did this count as Essexing it up instead of just getting ready to go out? Why are some people so keen to buy into this stereotype? MY suggestion stop jumping on a frankly ridiculous bandwagon.
So although I feel proud that my hometown is mentioned- normally for bad things such as the dodgy Basildon sign, remember that what’s being portrayed may be this:

But in reality we’re really like this:

The Only Way Is Essex....OR is it?

So uni finished a grand total of 6 months ago and after initially being excited about coming home and uni being over (once I’d gotten over the sadness of leaving) I have begun to realise that actually I miss university a hell of a lot.
So returning home to Essex should have been exciting right? We’ve all seen the tv show- Essex is meant to be glamorous and fabulous and THE place to be. After all THE ONLY WAY IS ESSEX right?...well if only that was correct. All I currently feel like is that I’d much rather be back at university. Real life is so boring.
Watching all my other friends return back to uni after placement for their 3rd year has made me a little bit jealous, following on Facebook their nights out and antics whilst I’m tucked up in bed by 10.30 ready for another 6.00 alarm. Maybe this is part of growing up but I can tell you now I don’t like it at all.
At university I was  constantly around people, going out most weeks at least once, having a laugh, being independent and being able to do whatever I wanted. At home however I feel that I’m constantly working, coming home to eat and sleep before back to work, saving all the money to fund my LPC, which at the moment seems right out of reach. Plus living at home means I have to fit in with others routines which being at university I didn’t have to do as often. I just feel like all I do is work without any free time or time to do anything- see my friends or try to meet a nice guy.
So maybe Essex isn’t THE place after all? To me it’s pretty dull and monotonous, following the same daily routine. Who knows maybe I’ll get used to lving at home, that once I’ve saved what I needed and am studying again and having free time to do what I want I’ll begin to feel like Essex is the place to be... If only life was like TV sometimes haha.
Not Quite Hollywood eh?!

Hallow-scream or Hello Sexy?

So it’s getting to that time of year, as the winter draws in and nights come earlier, you rush home to stick the heating on and to snuggle up to the duvet. That’s right October has well and truly sunk in and as it approaches the end my thoughts turn to Halloween...
Ok so working in Asda means I’ve had Halloween thrust in my face since I saw the stock sat out the back in September (believe it or not our warehouse is full of Christmas stuff already?!) but I had of yet not thought about my plans for Halloween...or a costume. Until tonight when I realised Halloween is next weekend and I have yet to decide on the costume.
It's only been recently that I've become interested in dressing up for Halloween, I never really trick or treated as a child and it wasn't until university when I started dressing up and going out for Halloween- so far I've been a cat, a devil and a dead school girl.
Right I have my plan for this Halloween, a house party at the weekend at a friend's house (no trick or treating for me I think I’m too old for that) but then comes the dilemma what do I dress up as? As a kid it used to be dress as the scariest thing you could think of, an ugly scary witch but growing older it’s become about sexy not scary?! Nobody wants to be wearing a horrendously unflattering costume even if it is Halloween right? And there comes the problem do I find a costume that embraces the nature of Halloween- something truly terrifying, or do I find something that although scary based will still be sexy and flattering enough to look someway decent.

Do I become this:

Or this:

I guess I’ll have to mull it over this week and get cracking on creating the perfect costume- maybe somewhere in between.
IF anyone has any thoughts let me know... no doubt I'll tell you what I'll be after the weekend

Auntumn Leaves under frozen soles

Well now autumn has crawled in (even though the weather the last few days has made it feel more like summer) and the dark nights and cold weather is coming back with avengance so I have decided it is about time I got back to my regular blogging now that life is less hectic.

I know what you're all thinking...you've said this before and then nothing happened, but this time I'm going to continue. This blog is just what I need to distract me in my large amount of free time and if I'm honest with you I've missed writing... so I'm here to tell you that the blabberings of an Essex girl is back for good... and I'm asking for your feedback on the blog as well, I generally just write whatever I like and I don't know if my writing actually appeals to readers so any feedback left would be very helpful...

So I'll begin writing now

30 Day Picture Challenge: Day 11- A picture of something you hate

Ok so you may have noticed day 10 is missing from the challenge but I decided I didn't like that one so missed it out....it's my blog so I'm allowed to!

So a picture of something I hate:
So one of many things I hate is needles and injections. I'm a complete needlephobic, I only have to hear that I have to have an injection and I freak out. The problem is needles are necessary for so many things: blood tests, going to the dentist, all the childhood injections you must have. It's that bad I can't even watch other people having injections or even watch them on TV

30 Day Picture Challenge: Day 9: A picture of a person who has gotten you through the most

Ok so I decided since I haven't actually updated in a while I'd kill two birds with one stone so to speak and update a few of these at a time (seeing as the last one before today was 6 days ago). So day 9 is a picture of a person who has gotten me through the most.

Ok I'm going to cheat on this post as there are a few people who have gotten me through a lot recently and therefore this post is becoming Pictures of People Who have gotten you through the most.

Firstly there are the uni girls. These girls have helped me so much over the last 3 years. They've gotten me through the highs and lows of being away from home and life in general and have helped me with so much. I honestly feel so blessed to have them as friends and cannot wait for them to come and visit me at home for my birthday.

My Mum and Stepdad are obviously people that have gotten me through so much. Without their support I honestly don't know where I'd be. My mums always at the end of a phone if I need a chat, moan, gossip or just to ask her a simple question like how long do I have to boil an egg for to make dippy egg and soldiers (and yes I did ask her that). Their support is invaluable and obviously they would be the people who have been the biggest support to me throughout my life.

The Work Girlies. The girls who also suffer the joys of ASDA with me and make going to work that much more bearable. They bear the brunt of my mood swings and have helped me a lot especially over the past year and all I can say is roll on Gran Canaria next week

The Housemates.
It's weird how someone I've only actually known for less than a year has gotten me through so much. These girls are my family away from home and I honestly don't know where I'd be without them. They've definitely brightened up my final year and I'm so glad to have lived with them this last year.

Kate. The one person who I think has had the longest and hardest slog as a best friend. We've been friends for years and so obviously in this time she's had to deal with a lot of my moods, problems and celebrations and I don't know where I'd be without her. Probably with a huge hole in my life waiting to be filled with her random art projects and useful insights into life. 6 years of friendship down and a lot more to come :)

30 Day Picture Challenge: Day 8- A picture That Makes You Laugh

Right so a picture that makes me laugh...

The picture may not appear that funny from an outsiders perspective but it takes me back to my nan's 60th birthday party 2 summers ago. She was quite drunk and at one point started to pole dance using my uncle's washing up pole, whenever I see this picture it makes me smile because I just remember how hilarious it was to watch and brings back all the memories from that night.

30 Day Picture Challenge: Day 7: A picture of your most treasured item

Right so I have decided to get back onto the blogging bandwagon and so am picking up from where I left off with the 30 Day Picture Challenge. So here is day 7:

I have a couple of treasured itens and I can't decide between them so this is going to be my most treasured items.

So number one: The gold ring with sapphire and diamonds. This ring was my nan's engagement ring which my mum gave to me a few years ago, it started out in my cupboard but I've begun to wear it more and more.
Number two: Another item which although relatively new holds a lot of sentimental value is the necklace my mum and stepdad bought me for christmas. I used to wear a necklace given to me by my ex but of course after a break up that went away into a cupboard and now lacking a necklace my mum and stepdad bought me this.

Number 3: Right the final item I have chosen may seem a little bit stupid and people will probably laugh but my phone is one of my most treasured items. Especially at uni its a way of contact with my family and friends and whenever I forget it when I go anywhere I always feel like my arms missing and I hurry home to find it and catch up on the texts etc I have missed.

They think it's all over...It is now!

So yesterday was a very important day for me. It was the day that my degree and 3 years at university ended officially.I had my last exam in the morning and after the month or so of solid revision I could not properly explain to you the feeling of utter relief I felt when the invigilator said "The time is up, your exam is over"

I had such an amazing day. I went for a quick drink in the union with the girls after our exam however after having only eaten 2 petit filous yoghurts for breakfast, I'm the type of person who stresses so much I can't eat and feel sick and that was literally the only thing I could manage, we decided to go get our lunch.
We went to AllBarOne (the same place I told you about in my post on my valentines post) and I must admit the Gammon and Eggs with Chips was amazing. If you have the chance to I highly recommend the restaurant. It's all very reasonably priced, my meal was only £8 and it was massive and definitely very very nice and they also do the most amazing cocktails and mocktails.
The evening I went out with the law girls for a celebration. We went to Tickled Ivory in Guildford, which is a lovely little bar which has a live piano musician as well as a DJ so I think it's fair to say it was a drunken but exciting night.

However today after waking up from a well deserved sleep at 12.30pm I've been reflecting on what this actually means. My degree is over! I've spent the last 3 years of my life at this uni and I must say I love it, maybe the people and the place more than the course but that is besides the point. And results provided I will be graduating and becoming an LLB hons.
I honestly cannot believe that it's been 3 years since I moved into my flat nervous as anything and crying when my mum left and I was on my own, needless to say I was fine and I met some of the best friends I could ask for. It feels like yesterday if I'm honest and I really wish I could go back to that first day and live the next 3 years again, not because I regret anything but because I've had such an amazing time and want to do it all over again.

I guess I have a lot to thank Surrey for and a lot to thank the university life for. I realise I came to uni a quiet naive 18 year old, not wanting to be away from home for anything longer than a couple of days and now I'm a strong, independent almost 21 year old who although still has no idea what she wants to do with her life, has grown up and matured.
Surrey has also given me some amazing friends who I can guarentee will be friends for life, not just the people I met in first year but my amazing housemates and course friends. Some of them I have known for 3 years, some a year and some a matter of months but they've all helped me to learn about myself and helped me through some really tough times.

This post is kind of a reflective post, I don't expect you to find it at all interesting but I found it a nice way to reflect even if only briefly on my time at uni and myself and so I thought I'd leave you with a few pictures of some of my favourite university times

Just A Quick Hello!!

Right this post is basically a quick post apologising for my absence from this blog. I am aware that I haven't posted in a long long while and yes I know it must be irritating following a blog that rarely updates (I know I get anxious to read new posts from some of the blogs I'm following). But I do have a genuine reason. I am ridiculously busy with my final year exams coming up in just over a week so I am currently in the madness stage of revision consisting of ridiculously long hours and the acceptance that I am going to be sleep deprived.

But the good news is yet to come: I will be back on the 7th June (or maybe the 8th depending on how drunk I get after my last exam) and I will have a whole summer to keep you all updated about everything I shall be up to and also telling you about what I've been doing in my absence, which includes a review of Olly Murs and his support bands after seeing them last night.

So I just ask you be patient for another 2 weeks and then I shall be back. Also any suggestions on anything you wanna read about, whether it's about my life, or a general issue then they are very welcome.

Sit tight

30 Day Picture Challenge: Day 6- A Picture of A Person You Would Love to Trade Places with for a Day

Right this one was quite tricky as there are a load of people I'd love to trade places with but I've decided on:

A Toddler
As I said it took me quite a while to pick out the person I'd want to trade places with. I started thinking of celebrities I'd love to trade places with like Kim Kardashian, Jessie J even Kate Middleton but I know that even for a day I couldn't cope with their lifestyle and the constant harrassment from the papparazzi, not to mention the work schedule/

So after racking my brains I decided on a toddler, any toddler it doesn't really matter age, race, religion, gender, just a toddler. I want to be reminded on when the world and life was exciting and new, when it was a mystery as to why it snowed but all you knew was it was a lot of fun, to still believe in Santa and the Easter Bunny and Tooth Fairy, when there was a bit of magic in the world before you grow up and be cynical about everything.

So that's who I'd like to trade places with for a day... I'd love to hear who you would trade with

"Music expresses that which cannot be said and on which it is impossible to be silent" Victor Hugo

Well anyone that knows me, or has seen my 30 day song challenge on Facebook, knows that I have an extremely varied music taste. I listen to anything from reggae to r n b to indie to heavy metal so I thought I’d share with you some of the songs I’m currently loving...and some of the songs I’m currently not liking as much.
Songs I like:

Bim- The Magic of Us

This is a fairly chilled out song that I like to listen to when I’m chilling out and revising. I heard it when I went to my housemates dance show after not hearing it for ages but I like to chill out and watch it.
Ben Montague- Haunted (or any other of his songs)

I was introduced to this guy by my friend Ellie, she went to see him in concert and was ranting and raving about him so I gave him a listen and now I’m obsessed. He writes most of his own music as well as doing some covers and plays the piano and guitar- my favourite song of his at the moment is haunted, it’s just a nice chilled out song but the lyrics are also very pretty

Starboy Nathan- Diamonds

I heard this on the radio a few weeks ago and since then I have been obsessed with it, I don’t know why but it’s just so catchy and I’ll be sat there and just start singing it.
Zoelah- wine up on me

This song is all down to my housemate Giovanna, She’s very into her dancehall and soca and got me into this artist. I listen to these when I’m getting ready to go out, it’s nice and upbeat and gets you into the dancy mood

I could go on forever of my favourite songs but I’ll get onto the songs I’m not feeling right now:
Katy Perry feat Kanye West- E.T

I don’t like this song on the album before Kanye got involved and I don’t like it now. Everyone seems to rant and rave about it but I just don’t get it, It’s not something I’ve heard and thought wow I like this, which I do with a lot of Katy Perry stuff and I really don’t like Kanye West.
Chris Brown- Look at Me Now

Three words Chris Brown: You CANNOT rap. IT’s an embarrassment that you even tried. Like most people I gave Chris Brown a second chance with his music, some of the older stuff like forever I loved and I must admit his song Yeah 3x is quite catchy but now he’s attempting to rap and trying to turn into Sisqo I must admit I’m less than impressed. Chris Brown maybe stick to the singing and leave the rapping to the professionals.
Wretch 32- Traktor

This is another song I just cannot stand. I don’t know why but it really grates on me, whenever I hear it when I’m out I’m the first person off the dance floor and on my way to the bar (normally I’m the first person on the dance floor when I hear a good song)

So these are some of my current likes and dislikes in the music world, feel free to leave your opinions and maybe recommend some songs I can listen to, I love listening to new artists and songs.

30 Day Picture Challenge: Day 5: A picture of your favourite Memory

Another hard one to do today, finding a favourite memory but I was searching through my photos and found this picture

So this photo is almost 3 years old now but it was taken in Gran Canaria in 2008 (when I was 18). It was taken on the school disco night that was held and this brings back memories of the holiday, my first holiday I went on without my family. It was such a nice break and was nice to have a good giggle with my friends

30 Day Picture Challenge: Day 4: A picture from your favourite night

Right I know I’m rubbish at keeping up with this picture challenge thing, hence why on my facebook profile it has taken me about 3 months to complete the 30 day song challenge, but here is picture 4, a picture of my favourite night.

To be completely honest I don’t really have a favourite night out that I can single out, I’ve had so many good nights out recently as well as throughout my time at uni that I can’t single one out. Therefore I have picked a few pictures (I know it’s cheating) and I’m going to tell you why they’re my favourite nights.

These photos are from Freshers Week, with my housemates. These pictures remind me of some of the really amazing times I had that year with the bunch of lovely people and it makes me sad to think that uni time is almost over.

Christmas Eve 2010- Also Becka's 21st birthday. This ngiht was just a really good night and a nice end to the year. Topped off of course by seeing Mr Olly Murs in Liquid

New Years Eve 2010- Another good end to a bit of a rubbish year but it was definitely a drunken, amazing night.
